Our Beliefs

Take a moment and read through the following information about this journey we are on.  At the bottom of this page you will also find our basic tenets of faith.

Finding Eternal Life

If you are questioning how to get to Heaven, you could ask your friends. Now that would probably get a hundred different answers. Some would say to be a really good person, don’t lie or steal, or just follow the Ten Commandments as best you can. On and on it goes. But the truth is, your friends might not have the real answers and when you think about it, finding out about Heaven is pretty important. After all, the difference between spending eternity in heaven or hell depends on hearing the truth and acting on it.  When we look into the Bible we read, "Jesus said, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.... You must be born again" (John 3:3, 7).

What we believe..."Born again?" That may sound strange to you. What does it mean? To explain this, let's look at what the Bible has to say. God's Word is very realistic. It teaches that no one can gain entrance into Heaven by good works or even being a member of a church won't do it. The Bible reveals our true condition: ". There is no one righteous, not even one ... For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:10, 23). Our own personal experience tells us that we are not perfect.

We, by nature, are described as being "dead in our sins;" "alienated from the life of God;" " not having life" (Ephesians 2:1; 4:18). Just as a body without physical life is declared dead, so any person separated from the life of God is described in the Bible as spiritually dead.

Separated from God, dead in our trespasses and sins, we cannot hope to enter Heaven. We need new lives, cleansed from sin and its penalty. We need to be restored to fellowship with God. We must be born into a new life--we must be born again. Jesus Christ came to bring us this new life. He said, " I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. " (John 10:10). Receiving the life that Jesus can give is what being born again is all about.

When we think about God's love for us, it is really more than we can comprehend. God sent His Son Jesus Christ from the safety and beauty of Heaven to enter the human race and pay the penalty for our sins. This is the extent of God's love for us! "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us " (Romans 5:8).

Jesus willingly took all our sins and suffered a humiliating, painful death on the cross. By His death, Jesus provided for our salvation. By His resurrection from the dead, Jesus broke the power of death.
Today the risen Lord Jesus offers new life to all who will receive Him as Savior. He promises, "He that hears My word and believes on Him that sent Me, has everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life" (John 5:24).

If you will respond to the Son of God by receiving Him as your Savior, you can have everlasting life right now. On the basis of God's Word you can have assurance that Jesus Christ has totally suffered the penalty of sin for you. And you can be born into the family of God, knowing that one day you will live forever with your Lord in Heaven.

"And this is the record, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He that has the Son has life; and he that doesn’t have the Son of God does not have life" (1 John 5:11-12).  Tonight when you lay down to go to sleep, please ask yourself if you have been born again. You don't need a pastor, or priest, or anyone else to pray for you. All you need is to meet Jesus right where you are. He knows you inside and out, and He still loves you more than anyone else. Now that is awesome. The One who knows me best is the One who loves me most.

Salvation Through Jesus Christ

Salvation is deliverance from spiritual death and enslavement by sin. God provides salvation for all who believe and accept His free offer of forgiveness. Mankind’s only hope of redemption from the fallen sinful state is through the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son–blood that was shed as Jesus died on the cross. [The account of the crucifixion of Jesus is recounted by four of His contemporaries: Matthew (chapter 27), Mark (chapter 15), Luke (chapter 23), and John (chapter 19).] (Luke 24:47; John 3:3,16,17; Rom. 8:16; 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8,9; 4:24; Titus 2:11-12; 3:5-7)

Divine Healing

Divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. Deliverance from sickness is provided for in the atonement, and is the privilege of all believers. (Isa. 53:4,5; Matt. 8:16,17; James 5:14-16)

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

All believers are entitled to receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit, and therefore should expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father, according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ. This was the normal experience of all believers in the early Christian church. With the experience comes the provision of power for victorious Christian living and productive service. It also provides believers with specific spiritual gifts for more effective ministry. The baptism of Christians in the Holy Spirit is accompanied by the initial physical sign of speaking in other tongues (unlearned languages) as the Spirit of God gives them audible expression. (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4,8; 2:4; 8:12-17; 10:44-46; 11:14-16; 15:7-9; 1 Cor. 12:1-31)

The Second Coming of Christ

All Christians who have died will one day rise from their graves and will meet the Lord in the air. Christians who have not yet died will be raptured or caught up with them, to be with the Lord. Then Christians of all ages will live with God forever. The scriptural truth of the Lord’s soon return is "the blessed hope". (Romans 8:23; 1 Corinthians 15:51-52; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Titus 2:13)
